DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – May 7, 2019
High Salary C
Players costing over $6,250
Nikola Jokic (vs POR – $10,500): Needs 49.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 60 fantasy points against Portland. There is no doubt against Jokic’s game right now. He has been dominant all post-season and has been a top 3 player in the playoffs. The Blazers don’t have an answer for him and that won’t change in Game 5. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
Joel Embiid (at TOR – $9,200): Needs 43.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 38.5 fantasy points against Toronto. Embiid will get you something but you still need more out of him given his salary. And I’m not sure he can give more with his knees and the way he’s played in Toronto thus far. He’s still Joel Embiid and the ceiling is high, but the reliability isn’t quite there. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
High Value C
Players costing $6,250 or under
Marc Gasol (vs PHI – $5,000): Needs 23.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26.25 fantasy points against Philadelphia. You know what you’re getting out of Marc Gasol. If you want a reliable option who will get you solid numbers but probably won’t over-deliver on those numbers, then you go with Marc Gasol. The minutes will always be there. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a decent ceiling.
Serge Ibaka (vs PHI – $3,900): Needs 18.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 29.25 fantasy points against Philadelphia. I would expect Ibaka to get more minutes because he played well in Game 4 and the Raptors found a little something with him and Gasol. And Siakam didn’t look 100% so if he’s still nursing the injury, Ibaka will step up. He’s dominated the Sixers all season when he has gotten those minutes. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
