DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – May 8, 2019
High Salary C
Players costing over $6,250
Al Horford (at MIL – $6,700): Needs 31.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 38.5 fantasy points against Milwaukee. Horford looked better in Game 4 and it’s obvious the Bucks will let him do what he wants in terms of the offense. Horford can get his, but they will do their best to limit the bigger threats. Horford is a reliable option if nothing else. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
Clint Capela (at GS – $5,600): Needs 26.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 18.75 fantasy points against Golden State. With Tucker finding a spot as the small ball five, it’s pushed Capela out of the lineup. And that’s a concern. Capela’s salary has dropped, which is good news. But he’s a risk if he’s not going to get the minutes to contribute. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a good ceiling.
High Value C
Players costing $6,250 or under
Nikola Mirotic (vs BOS – $4,600): Needs 21.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 17 fantasy points against Boston. Not much to like at the value center position. Mirotic had a strong Game 2 but he’s been great in the last two games. He’s still starting, which is the good news and looks to be a better option than Brook Lopez at this point. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a decent ceiling.
Ersan Ilyasova (vs BOS – $3,300): Needs 15.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 22 fantasy points against Boston. Ilyasova might end up being the best value play at this position due to his salary and the opportunities he’s getting. Don’t expect a big game out of him, but if you’re looking for a low-cost option who won’t hurt you and can can be better than expected, he’s a good choice. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.
