High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,667

James Harden (at GS – $11,800): Needs 50.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 60 fantasy points against Golden State. Harden really came alive in Houston and now we will see if he’s able to do it as the series moves back to Golden State. You never know if they turn up the AC or something. You can always build around Harden with confidence. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Khris Middleton (vs BOS – $7,400): Needs 31.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28.1 fantasy points against Boston. Middleton was down just a bit in Game 4 but don’t be concerned with that. He’s been great against the Celtics for the past two seasons and with the series going back to Milwaukee, Middleton will find more comfort at home. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Jaylen Brown (at MIL – $6,300): Needs 26.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 29.4 fantasy points against Milwaukee. Brown has been very good in this series but I am a little bit worried about his higher salary. We know the minutes and opportunities will be there and I always like him in the playoffs ever since he showed he wasn’t afraid to go at LeBron in his rookie year. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Austin Rivers (at GS – $4,400): Needs 18.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26.7 fantasy points against Golden State. It’s a good night at the value shooting guard position. If you want other options, you can look at Pat Connaughton (assuming Malcolm Brogdon doesn’t play), Andre Iguodala (assuming he does play), and Klay Thompson in hopes that he gets his shot going. As for Rivers, the minutes will be there and he’s a nice low-cost option. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
