2019 NBA Mock Draft: When trades enter the equation
After making the trade to dish Bradley Beal to the Lakers as a consolation prize for the Anthony Davis (and Kawhi Leonard and Paul George) sweepstakes, the Wizards land the top talent available here at No. 6. Reddish is as inconsistent as they come but came to Duke as a scoring freak and still flashed ability as a tough-shot maker and at-rim finisher with the Blue Devils as a freshman.
If he hits, Washington could emerge from this dark situation quickly. Reddish also fits the mold of what we are building for the Wizards through these deals — a long, versatile team with playmakers at every position.
Our Beal trade centered around Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma and Jaxson Hayes. Washington already has two interesting pieces in Troy Brown Jr. and Tomas Satoransky who fit this mold. Reddish could be the primary scorer for this young group and take control of the offense in a way he never could at Duke.
With that in mind, the Wizards emerge from the draft with a cleaner, more forward-looking roster:
G – Ball, Satoransky, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Isaac Bonga
F – Brown Jr., Reddish, Kuzma
C – Dwight Howard, Hayes
