32 college football players destined to be future first round NFL Draft picks
17. Tylan Wallace – Wide receiver, Oklahoma State
Perhaps the most underrated of the 2020 wide receiver group, Tylan Wallace isn’t the most imposing guy at 6’0″ and 185 pounds, but he plays much bigger. Wallace finished second in the nation with 1,491 receiving yards and had 12 touchdowns in a breakout sophomore season. Wallace was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award and second-team AP All-American.
With an average of 17.6 yards per catch, he is one of the most dangerous weapons in college football, and there were plenty of times where Oklahoma State just threw it up to Wallace and let him make a play. In an upset win over Texas this past season, Wallace almost single-handedly beat the Longhorns as he racked up over 200 yards and two touchdowns.
Wallace’s ability to track and high point the ball deep is not something you can teach so any team with a vertical passing game should have a ton of interest in his skill set. The track record of Oklahoma State receivers in the pros is a little tricky so that might scare some teams, but it’s easy to see Wallace’s role in the NFL and how his game translates.
Oklahoma State’s quarterback situation is a little unknown at the moment so if Wallace is still able to produce at a high level his first-round projection will be strong.
