32. CJ Henderson – Cornerback, Florida

Florida is usually good for at least one high-level defensive back prospect and this season it appears to be C.J. Henderson. With safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson moving on to the NFL, Henderson now emerges at the main guy to watch in a still outstanding secondary. He is a compelling case since he did not start playing cornerback full-time until a few years ago but already appears to have a natural feel for the position.

Henderson is a taller corner at 6’1″ but has movement skills and speed to keep up with any receiver and ball skills to be a real difference maker. In two seasons he has six interceptions, nine pass deflections, and two forced fumbles, so the ball is not safe when it enters his area.

The upside with Henderson is still through the roof as he continues to work on finer points of playing cornerback. Dan Mullen and his coaching staff helped elevate the play of many Florida player in 2018 including Henderson so there no reason to think he won’t be better in 2019. If so, Henderson will secure himself a spot on day one of draft whether it is in 2020 or 2021.
