DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – May 9, 2019
High Salary C
Players costing over $6,250
Nikola Jokic (at POR – $10,300): Needs 48.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 57.75 fantasy points against Portland. Jokic has been the best player in this series and that’s surprising in a series that has featured Damian Lillard. But the Blazers have had no answer for Jokic and he’s been an absolute force. Until he shows he can be stopped, just assume that he can’t be stopped. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
Joel Embiid (vs TOR – $9,000): Needs 42.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 23 fantasy points against Toronto. Maybe being back in Philadelphia will help Embiid. But it’s been obvious that something is wrong with him. Whether it’s his knees or illness or Gasolitis. He just doesn’t have it. He’s still Embiid, but the risk is high. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.
High Value C
Players costing $6,250 or under
Paul Millsap (at POR – $6,200): Needs 29 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 44 fantasy points against Portland. Millsap has dominated this series and the Blazers have no answer for him so you should keep on taking him. I have no doubt about his game right now because he’s given me no reason to doubt him in this series. He’s been a force. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
Marc Gasol (at PHI – $5,100): Needs 23.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 27.25 fantasy points against Philadelphia. Gasol just keeps chugging along in this series. You can take him with confidence knowing you are going to get steady production. He won’t have a huge outing, but that’s fine. There is nothing wrong with reliability. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a decent ceiling.
