FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – May 9, 2019
High Salary C
Players costing over $6,667
Nikola Jokic (at POR – $11,200): Needs 47.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 53.8 fantasy points against Portland. The Blazers have no answer for Jokic and that won’t change on Thursday. He will do whatever he wants once again because that’s how good he’s been in this series and in these playoffs. You can build around him with confidence. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
Joel Embiid (vs TOR – $10,200): Needs 43.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 19.7 fantasy points against Toronto. Embiid has been good in the games in Philadelphia, which is good news. The bad news is that he hasn’t been good overall and is still battling a knee injury, illness, and Marc Gasol. This salary is too high for him to miss as well. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.
High Value C
Players costing $6,667 or under
Enes Kanter (vs DEN – $6,300): Needs 26.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 20.1 fantasy points against Denver. The Blazers have schemed Kanter off the floor and that makes him a tough sell, even with the slightly lower salary. The ceiling is still high but there isn’t much reason to think that he’ll be able to pick up his defensive game and if he can’t stay on the floor, he can’t contribute. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a good ceiling.
Marc Gasol (at PHI – $5,500): Needs 23.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 27.5 fantasy points against Philadelphia. Gasol has been consistent in this series and even though he won’t have a big outing, you can count on him at this spot for reliable production if you don’t want to take the risk with Kanter or Embiid. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a decent ceiling.
