High Value Guards

Players costing under $8,333

Chris Paul (vs GS – $7,800): Needs 36.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 30 fantasy points against Golden State. Once again, Paul is just a reliable option. He hasn’t had any great game and probably isn’t going to give you a great game at this point. But he will continue to do enough to give you just enough. I wouldn’t take a captain spot on him because the salary is a big too high and he is unlikely to double up his production, which is what you need. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a decent ceiling.

Eric Gordon (vs GS – $6,600): Needs 29.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 27 fantasy points against Golden State. It took awhile for Gordon to get going in Game 5 but I’m not worried about him in Game 6. Not at home and not with these circumstances. I love him at this salary and think you should make him your captain because he’s at a great salary and can produce in a big way at that salary. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Austin Rivers (vs GS – $4,400): Needs 19.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 7.75 fantasy points against Golden State. Rivers didn’t produce in Game 5 but the minutes will continue to be there for him. Another option at this position could be Iman Shumpert, who is also getting some decent minutes for the Rockets right now. But there’s more stock in Rivers based on his series thus far. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.
