Here are five value players to add to your fantasy baseball team this weekend.

With the weather getting warmer, some players are starting to heat up. I talked about some top-owned players worth trading for already. This post is going to focus on those left on the waiver wire. If your fantasy baseball team is struggling, these guys should be top priorities for you.

Depending on your league size, these players may already be owned. Though, all are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues. They aren’t going to be game-changing players like Christian Yelich or Cody Bellinger but if you’re looking at the waiver wire, there is likely a player or two struggling on your roster.

I have three hitters and two pitchers listed for your consideration. Power, contact, multi-position eligibility, wins, strikeouts, quality starts. You can get help in a majority of stats by adding these players to your team.

Brandon Lowe

Lowe is hitting the ball well. He’s currently on a 12-game hitting streak. Though, he has missed some time during the streak.

The Rays are using Lowe in multiple positions. He has three games at first base and two in the outfield as well as playing second base. If he gets eligibility in at least one of those positions, Lowe becomes a bit more valuable.

While his power has quieted down, he is still getting on base and driving in runs. The Rays don’t seem to be slowing down.

Chris Taylor

Taylor is another player with multi-position eligibility. He already has shortstop and outfield and is one game away from getting second base (depending on your league’s settings).

Taylor is on an 0-for-8 slump but previously had four straight multi-hit games, going 9-for-17 with two doubles, two home runs and six RBIs. The Dodgers like to use their players in a few different spots so Taylor’s playing time isn’t as consistent.

Jorge Soler

Soler had a couple of bad seasons but things seem to be looking up for the 27-year-old. He already matched his 2018 home run total and is close to passing his RBI total.

Over the last week, Soler is hitting .417 with two home runs, five RBIs and six runs. He had a five-game hitting streak snapped with an 0-for-3 showing. The Royals may not be winning a lot of games but with Whit MerrifieldAdalberto Mondesi and Hunter Dozier hitting well, Soler will have his chances to drive in some runs.

Martin Perez

The Twins as a team are surprising a lot of people. Their pitching staff has the seventh-best ERA. The offense has the third-best batting average. Perez is part of the success of the former.

Perez has four straight wins, a quality start in four of his last five games and a 27:7 K:BB in that span. The Twins play in a weak division and Perez has been taking advantage of these favorable matchups. He makes his next start on May 11 against the Tigers.

Jerad Eickhoff

Eickhoff has pitched three good starts in a row. In that span, he has a 0.45 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, 17 strikeouts, seven walks and a 2-0 record.

The Phillies offense has cooled down some but with the names they have in that lineup, they will be the favorites in a lot of their games. This gives Eickhoff a good chance to earn a win.

Eickhoff makes his next start against the powerful Brewers so you may not want to start him in that game. But after that? He belongs in your lineup.

It’s easier to find successful hitters on the waiver wire than pitchers. With many believing the balls are juiced, hitters will have more success. That means whatever pitchers that are performing have to be doing something right. Add them while they’re hot.
