Now is a good time to buy low on these players for your fantasy baseball before they starting heating up.

If you’re looking to improve your fantasy baseball team, the waiver wire is a good place to start. Though, you’ll likely find barely above replacement level talent there. If you want to add a big name with a lot of potential, then making a trade is what you have to do.

There are plenty of players who got off to a slow start. Their fantasy owners were probably not happy with their first-month struggles. This either put them low on the standings in roto leagues or on a losing streak in head-to-head leagues.

With April behind us, some of these players are starting to heat up and reward their fantasy owners. Others may continue their slow start into the summer months. This post will feature the players who had a bad April and are turning things around.

If you want to add any of these players, you need to make a move now before it’s too late.

Jose Ramirez

Ramirez had an ADP of 5.2, fourth batter drafted in most leagues. His .205/.298/.318 line is not what owners expected from him so far.

Though, things are looking up for Ramirez. Over the last week, Ramirez is hitting .304 with a home run and two RBIs. The added benefit of getting Ramirez is his speed.

While you won’t get credit for his nine steals, you will get credit for the 20 steals he’ll have rest of season.

JT Realmuto

With the catcher position being drained of any talent, Realmuto is still a top catching option despite his recent performance. Realmuto is hitting .273 with four home runs and 22 RBIs on the season.

Realmuto has a .176 average with four RBIs over the last week. With the rest of the Phillies heating up, Realmuto will catch on. Again, you’re not trading for his past games. You’re trading for what he can do for you going forward.

Clayton Kershaw

Kershaw isn’t the same pitcher in 2019 that he was in 2015. He’s dealing with a lot of injuries, affecting his performance and fantasy value. Though, things look to be turning around for the veteran. He has a 3.31 ERA and 0.91 WHIP.

He pitched four straight quality starts before his most recent start of four runs over 6.2 innings. Kershaw still has great control, 31:6 K:BB ratio. If you need a boost in strikeouts and a potential boost in wins and ratios, trade for Kershaw.

Just be careful f his fantasy owners. They may use his name against you. He’s not the same player.

Raisel Iglesias

Iglesias made his feelings known about how he’s being used in non-save situations. He recorded a save on May 9. His last save was way back on April 25. Iglesias had a win, two losses and a blown save in that span.

Pitching in Great American Ballpark does not help a pitcher’s value. It also doesn’t help that Milwaukee is in the division and Iglesias doesn’t seem to be getting many saves.

However, with few saves to be found on the waiver wire without making some speculation, Iglesias is a reliever that could get you another 25 saves from now until the end of the season.

If you want to improve your team with top-level talent and not replacement level players, trading is what you have to do. It’s important for you to find value in struggling players and their future and make good offers in order to get those players.
