If City win on Sunday, they would become the first team since Manchester United (who won three consecutive times from 2007-2009) to repeat as Premier League champions. City would also secure a fourth Premier League title in this scenario, giving them one more than Arsenal and putting them in third place for most titles won in the Premier League era.
Standing in City’s way on Sunday will be Brighton, who sit in 17th place in the table, one place clear of the relegation zone. The Seagulls don’t need to win or draw on Sunday to stave off relegation, as their safety was assured following Cardiff’s defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace on Saturday.
On paper, Brighton doesn’t pose much of a threat to city. But as we’ve seen this week, incredible things can happen on the pitch. Could Brighton pull off the upset and potentially deny City a second straight Premier League title?
