FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup — May 12, 2019
High Salary C
Players costing over $6,667
Nikola Jokic (vs POR – $11,100): Needs 44.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 51.4 fantasy points against Portland. You can of course build around Jokic. He’s trending down in his last three games but he’s still the best player on the court and has the highest ceiling. He’ll need a big game in order to push the Nuggets to the next round and I fully expect a big game out of him. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
Joel Embiid (at TOR – $10,500): Needs 41.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 36.9 fantasy points against Toronto. Embiid was better in Game 6 but it still wasn’t good enough in DFS terms. And he’s been dreadful in Toronto during this series. He’s still Embiid and the ceiling is high but he’s certainly a risk because even his good games aren’t enough right now. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.
High Value C
Players costing $6,667 or under
Enes Kanter (at DEN – $5,800): Needs 23.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 22.3 fantasy points against Denver. Kanter has been less effective in the last three games although his minutes are still there, which is the good news. And his salary has dropped, which is the better news. He’ll get you numbers, but I don’t have a great read on him. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.
Marc Gasol (vs PHI – $5,400): Needs 21.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 24.6 fantasy points against Philadelphia. Kanter probably has the higher ceiling of these two but Gasol is certainly the more reliable. He hasn’t put up huge numbers, but he’s putting up enough and getting plenty of minutes. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a decent ceiling.
