DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – May 14, 2019
High Salary Guards
Players costing over $8,333
Damian Lillard (at GS – $10,800): Needs 48.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 45.5 fantasy points against Denver. The Nuggets had the blueprint on how to defend Lillard and that will carry over in this series. Lillard will continue to get his numbers but the first round seemed to be more of a product of OKC playing poorly. And Lillard has never played great against the Warriors, at least in the playoffs. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
Steph Curry (vs POR – $10,400): Needs 45.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 45.75 fantasy points against Houston. Steph found his rhythm in the second half of the Rockets game and he’s still a far more dangerous player without Durant than he is with him. He’s a better option than Curry on Tuesday simply because of his salary, his team, and the fact that yes, Steph better. Durant is out so Curry will shine. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
CJ McCollum (at Golden State – $9,600): Needs 42.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 54.25 fantasy points against Denver. McCollum was a beast in the series against the Nuggets and erased any doubt I had about him after the Thunder series. He wasn’t good against the Warriors in the regular season and the Blazers postseason record against the Warriors speaks for itself. But McCollum is delivering. I like him more than Lillard, at least for Game 1. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
