High Value Guards

Players costing under $8,333

Klay Thompson (vs POR – $8,400): Needs 36 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 40 fantasy points against Houston. Klay was in Game 6 form against the Rockets and without Durant, he’s now the second option once again. I love him in Game 1. There’s some strong value on the Warriors who showed they don’t need Durant and reminded everyone of why they won 73 games a few seasons ago. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Shaun Livingston (vs POR – $3,200): Needs 14.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 15 fantasy points against Houston. Livingston will continue to get minutes with Durant out because he’s a reliable midrange scorer who knows the Warriors system and contributes defensively. If you’re looking for a low-cost captain who will get numbers, Livingston is the way to go. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.

Seth Curry (at Golden State – $2,600): Needs 11.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 0 fantasy points against Denver. If Rodney Hood is able to play, he’s a stronger option than Curry. But Curry will get minutes in this game regardless and there isn’t another good guard option. I’ll mention him later, but Evan Turner becomes a good option if Hood doesn’t end up playing. Curry is a salary saver if nothing else but don’t expect too much. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a decent ceiling.
