High Salary Guards

Players costing over $8,333

Stephen Curry (vs POR – $10,800): Needs 47.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 60 fantasy points against Portland. Once again, no Kevin Durant means a lot more Steph Curry. You can trust him with your life (don’t do that) in this series if Durant doesn’t end up playing. Especially if the Blazers play the same kind of drop defense. I expect the Blazers to adjust and make things more difficult on Steph. And I expect it to not matter all that much. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Damian Lillard (at GS – $10,200): Needs 45.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 30.5 fantasy points against Golden State. Dame hasn’t been Dame since the Thunder decided to give him any shot he wanted. The blitz is making it difficult for him and the Blazers don’t have anyone else they can go to if CJ isn’t cooking. He’s still Dame but again, his track record against the Blazers speaks for itself. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Klay Thompson (vs POR – $9,400): Needs 40.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 42.25 fantasy points against Portland. The splash brothers are still the better option, even if I do expect Portland to make adjustments in Game 2. Truth is, they are just out-gunned in this series, even with the Warriors not being at full health. Klay will continue to shine alongside Curry. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
