High Value Guards

Players costing under $8,333

CJ McCollum (at GS – $8,600): Needs 37.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 21.25 fantasy points against Golden State. CJ dropped back down to earth in Game 1 and that wasn’t entirely unexpected. He can still put up big numbers but the reliability of the Blazers backcourt duo simply takes a hit against the Warriors. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Rodney Hood (at GS – $5,400): Needs 23.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 24.75 fantasy points against Golden State. Meanwhile, Hood is having the best stretch of his career and someone is going to pay him a lot of money this offseason. You can make him a low-cost captain pick you want to save at the UTIL positions. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Seth Curry (at GS – $2,600): Needs 11.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 16.25 fantasy points against Golden State. Shaun Livingston and Quinn Cook are also viable options here but Curry does have the higher ceiling as he’ll get the more meaningful minutes. Maybe if his dad starts rooting for him, his luck with change. If you really want to stack Warriors, Curry as the Captain makes sense. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a decent ceiling.
