High Value Forwards/Centers

Players costing over $8,333

Nikola Mirotic (at TOR – $5,200): Needs 23.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 23.5 fantasy points against Toronto. Mirotic keeps delivering what you need. He’s not really a risk because of his scoring and rebounding and the potential is always there for him to do more. If you’re looking for a reliable option who will get you what you need at a good cost, Mirotic looks to be that player. Ilyasova was the better value in Game 2, but I wouldn’t trust him as much on the road. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Brook Lopez (at TOR – $5,800): Needs 26.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 17 fantasy points against Toronto. Lopez tailed off in Game 2, which wasn’t entirely unexpected. The switch from Gasol to Ibaka made life a little tougher for him. He’s still going to get the minutes and opportunities, which is the good news, so his ceiling remains high but his reliability takes a hit. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Serge Ibaka (vs MIL – $4,200): Needs 19 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 23 fantasy points against Milwaukee. And Gasol dropped out of the rotation in Game 2, which is what I feared all along. Maybe the Raptors go back to him because it’s not like they had much success in Game 2 as a team but I still don’t like this series for him. Ibaka should continue to get the minutes and he remains at a great price. He’s a sneaky low-cost captain pick. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a decent ceiling.
