High Value Forwards/Centers

Players costing over $12,000

Brook Lopez (vs TOR – $9,000): Needs 36.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 17.3 fantasy points against Toronto. Lopez dropped off in Game 2, which wasn’t entirely unexpected. The minutes and opportunities will continue to be there for him. The only real concern is that if the Raptors go with Ibaka, it will limit the space for Lopez as Ibaka can close quicker than Gasol Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Serge Ibaka (at MIL – $9,000): Needs 36.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 20.5 fantasy points against Milwaukee. I figured at some point Gasol would be out of the series but couldn’t believe it until I saw it. We saw it Game 2. Maybe they go back to him in Game 1 because he did have statical success, but he can’t defend against the Bucks. Ibaka is a better option, especially given the salary difference between the two. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Nikola Mirotic (vs TOR – $10,00): Needs 39.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 22.2 fantasy points against Toronto. Mirotic looks like he’s just going to be a reliable option with his scoring and rebounding. And we know he can get hot from the field, which is the good news. I trust him more on the road than a guy like Ersan Ilyasova, who we’ve seen be great at home and then not be a factor when the series shifts away from his building. Mirotic is steady. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a decent ceiling.
