High Salary Guards

Players costing over $8,333

Kyle Lowry (vs MIL – $8,200): Needs 36.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26.5 fantasy points against Milwaukee. Lowry was slightly better in Game 3 but fouling out hurt his overall numbers. I still find him to be a consistent option because of his value to the team, even if he is dealing with a hand injury. I wouldn’t make him the captain because the extra salary won’t translate to extra points that you need. But he’s a reliable UTIL player. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a decent ceiling.

Malcolm Brogdon (at TOR – $7,800): Needs 34 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 32.25 fantasy points against Toronto. I continue to love Brogdon because he continues to the best point guard option on the Bucks. His salary might make him less desirable than George Hill if you’re hoping to get a lot of extra value. But he’s consistent and can put together a big game. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Khris Middleton (at TOR – $7,400): Needs 32.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 25.75 fantasy points against Toronto. Middleton was slightly better in Game 3 but you still need a bit more out of him at this price. He may even be the third option behind Brogdon at this point. The ceiling remains good because he’ll continue to get the minutes and opportunities. I’m feeling a strong Middleton game in this one. But it’s certainly a gut feeling. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
