4. Teaira McCowan — Indiana Fever

The No. 3 overall pick in the draft, Teaira McCowan is a walking double-double and is a potential cornerstone piece for the Indiana Fever, a team that finished dead last a season ago, only winning six games. McCowan will have the opportunity to make this team her own as soon as she steps on the court. McCowan averaged 18 points and 14 rebounds at Mississippi State as well as 2.5 blocks per game last season, thanks in part to her 6-foot-7 stature.

It’s not just her size though that makes her an intriguing prospect, it’s her patience in the post to work for a high percentage shot, her aggressiveness to grab offensive rebounds and her sneaky vision to dish it out to teammates when she’s getting double-teamed in the paint. The Fever are in desperate need of some star power to lead this franchise and McCowan has the ability to be that player. If she’s able to replicate her collegiate numbers at the WNBA level she will be an absolute force for years to come in the league.
