FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – May 23, 2019
High Value Forwards/Centers
Players costing over $12,000
Serge Ibaka (vs MIL – $8,500): Needs 34.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 37.6 fantasy points against Toronto. Of course, Ibaka had the big game when I didn’t pick him. I’ve loved him all series and Nick Nurse finally came around and listened to me. What took you saw long, Nick? I still love Ibaka but do worry if he can do it again, on the road. Mirotic and Lopez are still strong options with the series back in Milwaukee. Mirotic is reliable and Lopez has a high ceiling. Since I’m saying pick Ibaka, you probably shouldn’t pick Ibaka. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
Norman Powell (vs MIL – $8,000): Needs 32.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28.5 fantasy points against Milwaukee. Powell continues to be the secret weapon for the Raptors. He proved Game 3 was no fluke with a strong game in Game 4. But now the series shifts back to Milwaukee and that is a bit concerning. Can he play well on the road? He’ll get the chance but there is a red flag. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
Marc Gasol (vs MIL – $12,000): Needs 47 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 42.5 fantasy points against Toronto. Gasol keeps playing well despite my reservations against him. Even in limited minutes, he’s delivering strong numbers. As long as he keeps hitting 3s the way he’s been hitting 3s and showing that he can stay on the floor, there’s no reason to think he’ll fall off. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
