High Value Forwards/Centers

Players costing over $8,333

Brook Lopez (at TOR – $5,200): Needs 23.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28.5 fantasy points against Toronto. I still don’t hate Serge Ibaka in this spot, especially with Toronto being back at home. But Ibaka’s minutes aren’t guaranteed while the minutes for Lopez are guaranteed. With that being the case, Lopez is the more reliable option and he still has a good ceiling based on his shooting and shot blocking. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Marc Gasol (vs MIL – $5,600): Needs 25.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 13.5 fantasy points against Toronto. Gasol was down in Game 5 but don’t be too concerned about it. He’s been great in Toronto in this series and reliable for the majority of the playoffs. His salary has dipped a bit and he’s a sneaky good captain pick because we know he can deliver a big outing. Expect a big bounce back game from Gasol in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Norman Powell (vs MIL – $3,800): Needs 17.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 14.5 fantasy points against Milwaukee. Powell was slightly down in Game 5 but I’m not concerned about him. He’s been good in the last few games and he’s really stepped up in Toronto. He’s been a game changer for the Raptors and I expect him to keep it going, especially at this low salary given the minutes and opportunities. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a decent ceiling.
