Ever since Peyton Manning decided to retire after helping the Broncos to a win in Super Bowl 50, this organization has been looking for their next franchise quarterback. Since Manning hung up his cleats, they have trotted out the likes of Brock Osweiler, Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, and Case Keenum, nobody you would really want to write home about.

Entering 2019, they have a new quarterback they will look to lean on, as they will bring in former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco. In fact, the Broncos had a deal in place for Flacco before the new league year even began, as Lamar Jackson’s run during the 2018 NFL season made Flacco expendable in Charm City.

In order for this Broncos team to do anything next season, Flacco has to look more like the guy who led the Ravens to a Super Bowl XLVII, and not the guy who has struggled mightily since. With a bolstered offensive line, a solid running back, and nice weapons on the outside, Flacco will have no excuse when it comes to  the kind of talent he will have around him in his first season in Denver.

Of course, the Broncos did use a second round pick in 2019 on the quarterback position, selecting Missouri signal-caller Drew Lock with the No. 42 overall pick this past April. The hope is that he can sit behind Flacco for a year before taking over in 2020, because if we see Lock during the 2019 season, something went very wrong in Denver.
