Adley Rutschman, Catcher, Oregon State

Rutschman helped Oregon State win the 2018 NCAA Championship. He led them by earning the Most Outstanding Player honor for the College World Series. He’s 6-foot-2, 215 pounds and is a switch-hitting catcher who is expected to be the top pick. The Baltimore Orioles have that pick and are expected to take Rutschman who reminds them of a former first rounder Matt Wieters, who they also selected.

Bobby Witt Jr., Shortstop, Colleyville Heritage High (Texas)

Witt is the son former MLB pitcher Bobby Witt. The elder Witt was drafted No. 3 overall in 1985 by the Texas Rangers. Witt Jr. is expected to be drafted No. 2 overall by Kansas City. Witt Jr. is a true five-tool player. He won the High School Home Run Derby at last year’s All-Star game and received Most Valuable Player honors at the Under Armour All-American game. A shortstop will most likely remain there throughout his career, Witt JR. will most likely add some strength as he gets older. That means more power is to come. Witt Jr. has some swing-and-miss tendencies, but not so much that they can’t be overcome.
