Fantasy Football 2019: Top 10 Values in Early Drafts
By Kevin Scott
Value No. 5: Sammy Watkins (Draft.com ADP: 46 overall)
With the injury history of Sammy Watkins, it is difficult to draft him in the fourth round with confidence. But he is being drafted around the same time as Cooper Kupp, Chris Godwin, and Mike Williams.
All of those players have big upside, but Watkins could become the No. 1 receiver on the most prolific offense in the NFL.
Many are predicting regression for Patrick Mahomes. I think he repeats as MVP this season because he is the most talented quarterback I have ever watched.
If he is at-worst a very good quarterback — and if it is likely that Tyreek Hill will miss games this year — then Watkins could finally put up the numbers people expected him to when he was taken in the top 5 of the NFL Draft.
He is now comfortable in Andy Reid’s offense and has worked with Mahomes. The only questions are how many games Hill will miss and whether Watkins can stay healthy? I am willing to spend a late-third or early-fourth round pick on the bet Watkins explodes this season.
