Fantasy Football 2019: Top 10 Values in Early Drafts
By Kevin Scott
Value No. 9: Devin Funchess (Draft.com ADP: 106 overall)
Many may wonder why, but the Colts are very high on Devin Funchess. From the early reports, it seems they wanted him because of his route running. That’s interesting because it’s not at all what he’s known for.
But recently head coach Frank Reich explained Funchess is excellent on in-routes, and that those are some of Andrew Luck’s favorite passes to throw to.
So it seems the Colts have a very specific role in mind for Funchess, and he has impressed so far at OTAs. If he becomes the second option in the Colts passing game, people will be laughing at the end of the season because he was drafted so late.
He is certainly worth a flier in the eighth or ninth round of drafts. Even if he does not get 100 targets, he should still flirt with double-digit touchdowns, since T.Y. Hilton does not score many touchdowns and the Colts offense should be prolific.
