21. Nick Foles, Jacksonville Jaguars

Unquestionably, the award for most disappointing season went to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018. A team that had the AFC Championship game in their grasps just the season before took a mighty step back last season.

Locker room issues, injuries and suspensions had a lot to do with the team’s inadequacies. Neither of those reasons had the impact a flailing Blake Bortles did.

Bortles couldn’t make the throws and he turned the ball over far too much. So, out he went and in comes Nick Foles.

Foles has been riding the hot streak of a lifetime, and now he will be asked to lead the Jaguars back to contention. Doug Marrone and David Caldwell are taking a gamble here, but Foles has proven he is more than just a flash in the pan.

While with the Philadelphia Eagles, Foles filled in for an injured Carson Wentz and played very well both times that happened. In 2017, he marched them through the playoffs to a Super Bowl win, and last year he went 4-1 in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs.

The Jaguars are buying high here. Foles is coming of a season where he completed over 72 percent of his throws, threw for 1,413 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions. In the playoffs, he wasn’t nearly as good, completing over 60 percent of his throws and tossing more interceptions than touchdowns.

Either way, Foles is still a sure-handed, playoff proven quarterback who has put his team in position to win a lot of football games over the past two seasons.
