28. Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

After he was taken with the first-overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Jameis Winston looked as though he was progressing well. He made the Pro Bowl his rookie year and threw for 8,132 yards, 50 touchdowns and 33 interceptions over the first two seasons of his career. In that time, he was also 15-17.

Since then, Winston has played in 24 games with a record of 6-16 with 6,496 yards, 38 scores and 25 picks. Of course, staying on the field has derailed his production, but he hasn’t been able to limit his turnovers while on the field.

Whether it be fumbling the ball or throwing interceptions, protecting the ball has been Winston’s biggest issue. He has shown the ability to make throws, extend plays and win some games. However, ball security has eluded him.

Last year, Winston sat out the first three games of the regular season while serving a suspension. Ryan Fitzpatrick played in his place and he almost took the job from Winston when he came back.

Winston is entering the final year of his rookie contract. At 25-years old, he is entering the most important year of his career. New head coach Bruce Arians is giving him a chance to prove he can limit the turnovers, make better decisions and be the team’s quarterback for years to come.

He has shown flashes, now Winston needs to put it all together in order to prove his worth.
