1. Aaron Rodgers

There are a lot of NFL coaches and executives who still regard Rodgers as one of the best quarterbacks in football. He’ll have to play that way in 2019 if he is going to pilot the Packers to the promised land.

The good news for Green Bay fans is that Rodgers bounced back from an injury-riddled 2017 campaign to play all 16 games last season. It’s difficult to envision a scenario where the Packers can be contenders unless Rodgers plays in almost every meaningful game.

The other big concern for Packers coaches is whether or not Rodgers will suffer from age-related regression anytime soon. Not every signal caller in the league will show Tom Brady’s level of longevity. At 35-years-old it’s fair to say that Rodgers is past his prime. That doesn’t mean he can’t be the best quarterback in the NFL in 2019, but it does mean the odds are stacked against him.

In the end, the Packers will only go as far as Rodgers is going to take them. He can’t just be a good quarterback, he needs to be great if he wants to enjoy a deep postseason run. NFC North opponents shouldn’t bet against him, but it doesn’t make his need to play great any less for the Packers.
