18. OLB Bradley Chubb, Denver Broncos

Playing opposite one of the league’s best pass rushers and an eight-year pro who earned Super Bowl 50 MVP honors certainly has its benefits. But former North Carolina State defender Bradley Chubb was the most highly-coveted edge player in the 2018 NFL Draft and it was somewhat of a surprise that he lasted until the fifth overall pick that year, falling right into the hands of the John Elway and the Denver Broncos.

The 6’4”, 269-pound specimen was a 16-game starter for the Men from Mile High this past season. While the Broncos’ defense has slumped steadily since its amazing overall performance in 2015, the addition of Chubb was certainly a step in a positive direction for a club now under the guidance of head coach Vic Fangio and defensive coordinator Ed Donatell. The latter duo had their hands in on the Bears’ defense as of late (2015-18) and that group really came into its own the past two seasons.

As for Chubb in ’18, the 22-year-old performer finished tied for third on the team with 60 stops – 14 of those tackles for losses. His 12 sacks was second on the club to Miller’s 14.5 quarterback traps. He also came up with a pair of forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. And it will be fascinating to see that Fangio and Donatell have in store for Chubb, Miller and the rest of the Denver defense this upcoming season.
