High Salary Guards

Players costing over $8,333

Stephen Curry (at TOR – $11,600): Needs 49.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 50.25 fantasy points against Toronto. You still know what you’re getting out of Curry with Kevin Durant out of the lineup. The Raptors defense is tough but Steph is Steph and he will always find a way to get his points and assists in the Warriors system. He’s probably not worth spending the captain pick on but he’s always a welcome addition. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Kyle Lowry (vs GS – $7,600): Needs 32.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 29 fantasy points against Golden State. Lowry is who he is. He’s a reliable option who can do a bit of everything but his scoring is streaky and that’s an issue. But he’s at a good salary given the minutes and opportunities he’s going to have. And I do expect his scoring to bounce back in Game 2. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Klay Thompson (at TOR – $8,400): Needs 37.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME -29.25 fantasy points against Toronto. The Warriors need more out of Klay but  just like prior to Game 1, this matchup is much tougher than the Blazers matchup. He’ll continue to get his minutes and shots and he’s always a threat to have a big scoring explosion. But he’s still not as reliable as usual due to the defense. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
