Alexander Lacazette

Arguably Arsenal’s best player last season in spite of the fact that striker partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored nine more goals, Alexander Lacazette has been linked to Barcelona this summer.

The French forward was also recently spotted in the city and compared to current star striker Suarez by his former coach at Lyon.

Everywhere he’s been, Lacazette has exceeded the high expectations placed on him, and he’s proven to be more than a goal-scoring threat.

One of the hardest workers on the pitch, Lacazette will put in dirty work on the wings to set up teammates, often drifting out wide to collect loose balls after harrying defenders with his pace and agility.

Lacazette has the mentality to excel at a club like Barcelona, and he could be an ideal option to spell Suarez. Of course, the 28-year-old is too old to be a true long-term replacement for Suarez, and he’s also too good to be a backup.

It’s also unclear if he’d be interested in leaving Arsenal, where he’s forged a special relationship with both the fans and Aubameyang.

Still, Lacazette, who topped Arsenal with eight assists, is a potential option for Barcelona, depending on how aggressively they want to add another striker to help Suarez out.

It’s also conceivable that he could start over Suarez if he impresses, though that remains to be seen since Suarez did bag 21 league goals in 2018-19.
