Joao Felix

It’s common for Barcelona to go head-to-head with Real Madrid when attempting to sign the best young players in the world, and 19-year-old forward Joao Felix certainly fits the bill as a top young player with interest from Spain’s biggest clubs.

Joao Felix is coming off of an exceptional season at Benfica, and he looks like he could become a world-class player in a few years.

A standout in the Europa League with three goals in five appearances, Felix already has the eye for the spectacular and a jaw-dropping amount of athleticism and upside.

Barcelona have two immensely talented young forwards in Dembele and Malcolm who could become among the best in the world, especially if the team’s unimaginative coaching improves.

But there’s nothing wrong with adding another stellar young player, and Felix is more of a striker than either of those two, who have mostly been used on the wings at Barcelona.

Out of all the needs Barcelona have, it may be most important for them to add a young striker who can push Suarez, spell him at times, and eventually develop into his replacement.

With his versatility and 15 goals and seven assists in 21 Liga Nos games, Felix has clearly shown that even as a teenager, he has the ability to produce boatloads of tangible quality.

Already a player capable of receiving a look from Barcelona, Felix could be an ideal signing for La Blaugrana, even if his asking price from Benfica could approach – or even exceed – 100 million euros.
