5. Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings are in pretty good shape at the running back position. Dalvin Cook is still young and has superstar potential, and the team just drafted a similar player in Alexander Mattison, a powerful back who is good at everything.

However, neither of those players is known for catching the ball, though they can both do it. Further, behind those two players the depth chart gets murky fast, with Ameer Abdullah clinging to perhaps his last chance at an NFL roster spot and not much else behind that.

Adding Duke Johnson for a relatively inexpensive price, both in terms of capital required to get him and in terms of his cap number (his current cap number is about $3 million), would be a great addition for the Vikings. Although right now they do not have the cap space, presumably they will have to make several moves to get themselves under the cap, enabling this deal to happen without much issue.

Who knows – perhaps they could trade Kyle Rudolph for Duke Johnson straight up to get the deal done, and that would actually save them cap space.
