Sam Kerr (Australia)

The 25-year-old striker and member of the Chicago Red Stars has 31 career goals for Australia and is one of the best right-sided strikers in the world at the moment. In 2017, Kerr was awarded the Julie Dolan Medal as the best soccer player in Australia.

Kerr has a high work rate and is known for her powerful right foot. She is hoping to surprise the game’s established powers to push the Matildas into contention for the cup. Kerr can certainly pile on the goals. She’s won the Golden Boot for the past two seasons as the NWSL’s top scorer and is one of the best players on the Red Stars.

Kerr made her international debut at age 15 a decade ago. Previously, she played in the 2011 and 2015 World Cups. She’s expected to carry her team in France at her third World Cup.
