Christian Eriksen

Tottenham attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen is ready for the next challenge in his career, and a move to Ligue 1’s most prestigious club could be in the cards for the Danish international. PSG appear to be interested in the midfield maestro, who would join a crowded midfield.

If Adrien Rabiot leaves, Eriksen shouldn’t be considered his replacement. Eriksen is a less scrappy player and builds his game around moments of individual brilliance, rather than consistency throughout a game. That might make him a better fit for an uber-talented attacking squad like PSG, where Eriksen’s killer through-balls and inventive crosses would help unlock Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani in attack.

Eriksen finished his most recent campaign with the Spurs as the team’s leading assister (12), and he added eight league goals to Tottenham’s tally. That would have equaled Di Maria’s goal total in Ligue 1 and it would have also exceeded the Argentina veteran’s team-high 11 assists.

PSG may not need attacking talent, but Eriksen could end up being a real asset to a side that wants to add as much star power on the attacking end as possible. A midfield tandem of Eriksen and Di Maria would be exciting, though acquiring Eriksen could leave the talented Julian Draxler’s place in the squad uncertain.
