2. New Banjo-Kazooie game

The original Banjo-Kazooie game on the Nintendo 64, along with the first sequel, Banjo-Tooie, are some of the greatest 3D platformers ever created. Sadly, this series hasn’t gotten the next new game it deserves.

It seems as if Rare, the developer, forgot what made these games good once Microsoft purchased it. Rare tried to recreate the same magic with Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, but it simply wasn’t the same. Credit has to be given to Playtonic Games for trying to bring these kinds of games back to life with Yooka-Laylee, but there’s still something missing from that game as well.

It’s time this character(s) gets the proper treatment. The chances of it happening are unlikely, but it’s something fans have wanted for so long now. There are few game announcements that would make us happier than this.

Selfishly speaking, maybe Rare should give the rights to Nintendo so it can make something worthwhile for the Switch? As impossible as it may seem, who knows?

Maybe, just maybe, Microsoft is partnering with Nintendo to make Banjo-Kazooie a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If Joker from Persona 5 can do it, which was once a PlayStation 4 exclusive, why can’t other companies? Sounds like a good excuse to make way for a new game altogether.

As mentioned, it’s probably not going to happen. Then again, we never truly know.
