8. Colin Miller

Age: 26
Position: D
Current Team: Vegas Golden Knights

Much will be said about the future of Colin Miller of the Vegas Golden Knights as the summer advances. The franchise finds itself in a position in which it must move money, and Miller’s $3.875 million over the next three seasons is a prime option to help ease the Golden Knights’ cap struggles.

Despite having a down year for an offensively-minded defenseman — during which he amassed just three goals and 29 points in 65 games — Miller continues to be regarded as a valuable commodity around the league. His physical game is both strong and under-discussed, as he boasted 64 blocked shots and 122 hits in the 2018-19 season. Add the fact that Miller’s contract is nothing short of reasonable and the truth of the matter becomes apparent: acquiring the 26-year-old would be quite the steal for any team looking to bolster the right side of its back end.

Expect the Golden Knights to field calls for Miller, as the need for offensively astute and defensively accountable blue liners is at a noteworthy high. Some may be inclined to write him off, but you can bet that Miller is a man on a mission, as he looks to establish himself as one of the league’s more acclaimed second-pairing defensemen.
