4. Adam Scott (30-1)

Considering that Adam Scott has not made it to the weekend at the U.S. Open in the past two years, it might be hard to feel confident in his chances as he makes his way out onto Pebble Beach in 2019. Having said that, that doesn’t tell the whole story as Scott has been struggling with his putting in recent years given the new anchor rules, which affected him. This season, though, things seem to be turning around.

Outside of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans where he missed the cut in the partnered event, Scott has been on a nice run in the tournaments he’s played in. Scott finished tied for 12th at THE PLAYERS Championship, tied for 18th at The Masters, tied for eighth at the PGA Championship and finished outright second at The Memorial two weeks ago.

While Scott’s driving accuracy this season has him ranked just 109th on the PGA Tour this season, his overall game has been quite impressive. Even with that accuracy trouble, he’s ranked 23rd in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and ranks seventh on tour in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green. More importantly, given his struggles in recent years, he’s 21st in Strokes Gained: Putting.

As a major winner (2013 Masters) and with his form clearly being on right now, Scott has proven he can adapt to a course as unique as Pebble Beach and that he can hang with the players listed as the favorites this weekend. If he keeps up his form, he’ll be in the mix at great odds.
