High Salary Guards

Players costing over $8,333

Stephen Curry (vs TOR – $12,000): Needs 45.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 52 fantasy points against Toronto. Steph is Steph and I will rarely go against him. But I’m concerned about the Warriors in this game. Game 5 felt like an emotional lifting with Durant returning and then a big rally after they fell behind with Durant out. Toronto has proven to be the better team with Durant out of the lineup and adjustments will be made again. But Steph is Steph. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Kyle Lowry (at GS – $8,000): Needs 30.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 37.5 fantasy points against Golden State. Lowry was good in Game 5 but all anyone will remember is how he messed up in the final minutes. It’s a bad trend for Lowry but we also know that he can be good in this series, even if he falters in the end. I like Lowry to at least get you value in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Klay Thompson (vs TOR – $9,200): Needs 37.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 44.5 fantasy points against Toronto. Game 6 Klay will be in the building on Thursday. And while I’m not high on the Warriors for reasons mentioned above, I will never bet against Game 6 Klay, who might be the absolute best player in the world. When his team needs him in this spot, he delivers for them in this spot. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
