Widely regarded as the most polarizing prospect of the present class, Arthur Kaliyev’s name has been at forefront of speculation surrounding the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. For some, Kaliyev is an obvious lock to experience success at the professional level, as supporters will argue that the 17-year-old’s hockey IQ is among the most noteworthy when considered in relation to this year’s prospects.

His 51 goals and 51 assists for 102 points continues to serve as a subject of debate. Critics frequently counter that Kaliyev’s compete level — or lack thereof — raises serious questions about the degree to which his repertoire of skills will translate to the professional level.

Polarizing but talented, look for the left winger to be selected in the upper to mid tier of the draft.
