8. Philip Broberg

DOB: June 25, 2001 (age 17)
Position: D
Shoots: L
Team: AIK — Allsvenskan
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 183 pounds

For some time, Philip Broberg was near the top of various scouting reports, but something of a pass on others — in large part due to contrasting opinions on his offensive game. As one of the finest skaters in this year’s draft, Broberg has the potential to solidify himself among the best two-way defenders available, as he often manages to hold his own at both ends of the ice.

The major flaw in Broberg’s game is that of a quality of inconstancy. Broberg is still mistake-prone and is susceptible to irresponsible errors, but his capacity to act as a key force among second pairings at the professional level can ensure that his value does not go unnoticed.
