Let’s look at two more runs which sum up Chubb extremely well, and should convince you to target him in your drafts this summer.

First, check out this run against Pittsburgh.

I find it remarkable how he is met with so much congestion up front and is able to process it all so quickly. He patiently waits for the left guard (No. 75) to pull and seal off the defensive lineman to the inside, as the play was designed. Then he accelerates quickly to the open field, where four defenders are waiting. He is able to quickly flip his hips and outrace all of them to the corner.

A run like this shows that there is essentially no run Chubb cannot turn into a positive gain if he is given even the smallest of holes. That is what you want in a real-life and fantasy running back: a productive runner who will rarely give you negative runs, and will churn out maximum yardage every time.

Finally, let’s take a look at this touchdown run against the Raiders:

This is a jaw-dropping run. He is almost tackled in the backfield, then breaks four tackles on his way to the hole. Once he is free, again he has a safety come up to meet him. It seems the safeties are always hesitant to go at him hard, likely because Chubb is known as a tough guy to tackle.

This time Chubb blows by him with a quick stutter step juke, and he’s gone. Watching him leave the safety in the dust, grabbing at air, is a sweet sight. Then he also has the breakaway speed to take it all the way to the house.

Footwork. Vision. Processing. Power. Hip fluidity. Speed. Chubb has it all, and I anticipate he will have a huge year in this improving offense.

Next. Three reasons to avoid Le'Veon Bell in your drafts. dark

I believe he will end the year as a top-12 overall fantasy scorer, making him worthy of a first-round pick. However, he is going late in the second round, after guys like Dalvin Cook, Joe Mixon, and Le’Veon Bell. I would prefer him to all of those players, and I’ll take him in the second round in every draft where I have the opportunity. Mr. Chubb, you’ve made my wish list.
