4. Coby White, Chicago Bulls

White was underrated with the North Carolina Tar Heels while leading them to the Final Four this season. He will be an excellent floor general at the NBA level, but it will be his athleticism that is tested early on.

White averaged 16.1 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game last year while shooting 80 percent from the free throw line and 35.3 percent from deep. He also made 82 3-pointers last season, which is a UNC freshman record, and he’s earned every bit of this.

He is surprisingly tall at 6-foot-5, which will serve him well, but he isn’t particularly fast or bouncy. He’ll have to compensate for that with smart decision making. Carolina Head coach Roy Williams knew what he had on his hands right away.

“We had four practices last summer and I thought he was the best player on our team during the summer. It was at that point,” Williams said to 24/7 Sports about when he knew White would go in the first round. “About this time last summer I said, ‘Guys we need to recruit and try and see if we can get a great point guard in the next class because I don’t think (Coby) is going to be here. I told him it was very easy for me. That he was going to be a No. 1 (round) draft choice very easily. He was ready for it. ”

The Tar Heels are definitely losing an elite talent, though, and Carolina will miss this young man. He will now be a credit to the Chicago Bulls.
