Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill

For Ryan Tannehill, his run as the starting quarterback in Miami was a roller coaster ride, and one that should have ended better for him. A product of Texas A&M, where he threw for over 3,700 yards and 29 touchdowns in his final season with the Aggies, Tannehill was selected with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Rated as the No. 3 quarterback in the class, behind guys like Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, who we will get to later, Tannehill was named the starter as a rookie, and set franchise rookie records for passing yards, attempts, and completions. In fact, Tannehill never had issues putting up numbers when healthy, becoming only the fourth QB in NFL history with 3,000 yards in each of his first four years.

The problem with Tannehill is that he was sometimes too inconsistent, and he suffered some untimely injuries as well. After being injured towards the end of the 2016 season, a season which he helped lead the Dolphins to the playoffs, Tannehill blew out his knee in an 11-on-11 drill the following preseason.

Tannehill would miss the entire 2017 season, and after a sub-par 2018 campaign, the team decided to trade him to  the Tennessee Titans this offseason. This is a guy who should have been a lot better during his time in South Beach, and you have to wonder what his career would have looked like had he never gotten hurt.
