College football recruiting: The 1 must-have recruit for every Top 25 team
- High School: Longview
- Ranking: No. 79, No. 3 DUAL QB
- Interested Programs: Texas A&M, Tennessee, Auburn, Duke, Arkansas
One of the top dual-threat quarterbacks available in 2020 is Longview, Texas product, Haynes King. The third-ranked at his position, King is an exciting playmaker from both the pocket and when he gets on the run.
He’s also blazing fast and runs a 4.50 40-yard dash. If the opposing defense doesn’t keep someone locked on him and he takes off, he’s going to pick up big chunks of yards.
Simply put, he has the skill set to become a household name in college football and he’s going to be on every highlight reel on Saturday’s. The big favorite to land him among experts is Texas A&M and Jimbo Fisher.
This is absolutely a must-add for the Aggies. To keep him home in Texas and have a dynamic playmaker will gave Texas A&M life in the SEC West and could potentially keep them competing with their rivals.
The other program in the hunt for King is Tennessee, but the Aggies seem like the better route here. The Volunteers already have a commitment from four-star quarterback Harrison Bailey and have a couple of other young quarterbacks on the roster.
If King is as advertised, he might be able to quickly work his way into the Texas A&M job if he gets the right development and even sits a year.
