Juke City

It is very fun to watch film of Pettis from last year because of the jukes. A perfectly-executed juke involves careful footwork, head fakes, and body control. Jukes are often essential to receivers beating press coverage, especially if they are against a larger cornerback.

Pettis had some of the most ridiculous moves of the 2018 season, and he only played in about half the games. I cannot wait to see him turn around cornerbacks and get wide open with his arsenal of jukes this season. Below is one particularly great juke down in the confined area near the goal line, against the Broncos.

In the top clip, you can see his move to get open full speed. Then watch the second clip in slow motion, to appreciate the way he uses his feet, body, and head together to get completely open in a matter of a couple seconds.

Pettis has the capacity to be a top-15 wide receiver in the NFL this season. If he indeed becomes the No. 1 target in San Francisco, and garners something like 150 targets in the passing game, I believe he will put up 80-plus catches for around 1,200 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Mr. Pettis, you have made my wish list.
