4. Baker Mayfield will throw for over 35 touchdowns

Mayfield had a really impressive rookie campaign. He was particularly good after the Browns parted ways with Hue Jackson midway through the season. Everyone in Cleveland expects him to build on the 3,725 yards and 27 touchdowns he posted last year.

He obviously should benefit from better weapons this year. Jarvis Landry, David Njoku and Antonio Callaway are all back, but the addition of Beckham is going to make life easier on every member of the Browns’ offense. Mayfield’s ability to get the ball to Beckham early and often could end up being the key to the entire season.

The right bet here is for Mayfield to build on what he did in Kitchen’s offense down the stretch in 2018. In particular, he should be able to cut down on the 14 interceptions he threw last season. Keeping that total in single-digits should allow the Browns to end their postseason drought.

It’s also going to allow Mayfield to drastically increase his touchdown production. Beckham will make his share of big plays, but Landry and Callaway are going to pitch in too. In the end, look for Mayfield to flirt with 40 scores through the air. 35 is a relatively conservative projection for the former Oklahoma star.
