1. The Browns will win the AFC North

Rejoice, Browns fans. Your playoff drought is going to end in 2019. It’s going to do so in an emphatic way. Cleveland isn’t going to sneak into the postseason via the Wild Card. Instead, they’re going to enter the playoffs as the AFC North champions.

The Bengals don’t have the talent to contend and they’re playing for a very unproven coach. The Ravens are making the right decision by handing their offense over to Lamar Jackson, but they lost a ton of talent on the defensive side of the ball. The Steelers claim they’re going to play better in 2019 after the departure of problematic personalities, but what else could they reasonably say at this point in the preseason?

Add it all up, and the door is wide open for the Browns to step up and take the division by storm. Mayfield has to avoid a sophomore slump, but his accurate arm is going to wreak havoc on opponents with all of the weapons at his disposal. Cleveland will put up plenty of points.

The defense is also set up to hold up their end of the bargain. The cornerback combination of Williams and Ward could be one of the best pairings in the NFL. Edge rushers like Garrett and Vernon are going to keep quarterbacks running for their lives. Elsewhere, there’s just enough talent to keep opposing offenses at bay. The Browns aren’t a lock to win the division, but they should be considered the favorite.
